Family Services Program
The purpose of this program is to provide safe, secure, temporary housing for homeless families with young children, and putting them on a path to self-sufficiency. Crisis management and stable housing are the first steps to creating a stable family unit.
Families enter the program by being screened and referred through the ECHO Emergency Resources Program or an ECHO representative at the Renaissance Community Center. To optimize the success of our families, we accept those that have an existing income and have a reasonably steady employment history. During their stay in the program, the family is assessed monthly program fees of 30% of their disposable income, or $300, whichever is greater. The parents are also encouraged to save seventy-five percent of their disposable income. Because each family’s situation is unique, the time frame for staying in our program is flexible. Generally, a family will be enrolled in our program for an average of four months.
Basic Eligibility Criteria:
- Income: Employed, SSi/SSDI of at least $800.00 per month
- Monthly Mandatory Program Fees
- All school-aged children must be enrolled in school AND all pre-school children must be enrolled in daycare services.
- Attend Weekly Mandatory Life Skills Classes; Evenings 6-7 pm.
