Rent/mortgage

ECHO’s Housing Assistance program, funded by the United Way of the Big Bend (UWBB) and the Big Bend Continuum of Care, is available to prevent evictions for lower-income working or recently-unemployed households (ALICE) who are facing financial hardship. Funds may be used for past due or upcoming rent or mortgage payments. If you are in need of assistance, the form below must be completed by you and your landlord or mortgage company. You may return the form to ECHO via email at info@echotlh.org or call (850) 224-3246 x.206 to arrange other methods of delivery.

Food

ECHO and Good News Outreach have a co-located food pantry at our shared office at 548 E. Bradford Rd.

Current hours of operation are 9:00am to 2:00pm, Wednesday and Thursday. Please bring a photo ID to receive a bag of food for approximately 4-5 days worth of meals for a family of four.

If in need of transportation to our food pantry, please call 2-1-1 to schedule a free ride sponsored by Lyft and United Way Worldwide.

Cleaning supplies, hygiene items, and miscellaneous housewares

A limited stock of full- and travel-size toiletries, baby and adult diapers, kitchen wares, and cleaning chemicals are available upon request. If visiting our office to receive food, please inquire with a volunteer or staff member about these items.

Furniture

The Furniture Bank of Tallahassee offers free pickup service for donated furniture for distribution to our formerly-homeless clients at no charge. As a precaution, we are unable to enter your residence so please move the items outside. You may then contact dspitler@echotlh.org or call (850) 224-3246 x.205 to let us know when the items are ready to be picked up.

For households in need of furniture, please email sblakemore@echotlh.org or call (850) 224-3246 x.208 to discuss your situation and be added to our waiting list.
